The Tanji wing
The Tanji wing
Unleash the power of the wind
If you haven’t lived under a rock for the past 5 years, chances are that you have already encountered a wing out on the water. Wing foiling is gaining immense popularity by the minute and truly, it doesn’t come as a surprise. The wing foiling gear is easy to set up, the learning process is fast and not to forget the blast you have out on the water. A bad kitesurf or windsurf day, often holds the perfect conditions for a great wing foiling session. The key to making the most out of your foiling session is choosing the right equipment.
Choosing the right equipment. That is easier said than done. At Takuma we are on the everlasting journey to creating gear that is durable and makes the wing foil riding experience as enjoyable as possible.
The creation of the Tanji wing
Dare to be different. That was the assignment when we set out to design our next foiling wing. A wing that would stand out, not just through its design but through its performance on the water. Et voila, the Tanji wing was born.
The creation process of the Tanji wing was influenced by Japanese culture, which is part of our company culture and philosophy. It’s a well-balanced compact mid-aspect ratio wing that easily fits all conditions and allows you to create a lot of power with it.
What sets the Tanji wing apart
The Tanji wing is the ultimate wing for going up and downwind with minimum effort. The light feel makes it easy to handle for beginners and allows advanced riders to have fun doing tricks with it.
The incredible stability of the Tanji allows the wing to stay right behind you and not wash side to side. When you sheet in and pump the Tanji, it feels like it has more power than other wings of similar size. The incredible amount of power that it generates makes it the perfect tool for exploring your riding potential and pushing the limits of your skills.

Takuma signature angular carbon handles
The Takuma handles are already well known in the industry, due to their innovative design. The lightweight, ultra-stiff, carbon fiber handles offer a very direct connection to the wing. The front carbon fiber handle is slanted to create a more ergonomic handling and natural body positioning to make your wing foiling sessions as efficient as possible.
The long rear handle allows for intuitive hand adjustment, by naturally sliding along the handle instead of having to switch between loops. The raised angle of the front handle allows you to extend the wing further away from your body than if you would be riding with a straight handle. This makes generating speed and power easier and allows for perfect wrist positioning for more comfort and control.
Multi – panel canopy
We set out to create a wing that will withstand harsh conditions and demanding riders, so get prepared because Tanji’s unique design also serves an important purpose. The multi-nano-coated panels are more resistant to stretching and increase the wing’s life span.
Transparent panels
The windows are a truly handy addition. It is great to see what is straight downwind of you without having to lift the wing over your head.
Compact elliptical outline
The elliptical outline of the Tanji wing delivers a consistent drive, allows you to capture more wind and makes self-generating power easier. You can generate a ton of power with the Tanji wing. If you really want to go fast you can move your hands down the strut, sheet in and really fly.
Trailing edge battens
On each side of the wing you have 3 trailing edge battens to provide the wing with extra tension and improve its reactiveness during your wing foiling sessions.
