Breathtaking scenery, incredible sessions and unforgettable memories : the Takuma foil trip in South Africa is a trip our riders will remember for a while.
Cape Town is a spot offering diverse conditions, allowing Watermen to practice many gliding sports. Takuma riders Léo-Paul Étienne, Clément Colmas and Théo Demanez spent a few days there, exploring the potential of the new 2020 range !
Whether in Efoil, surf, SUP or wing foil, the various spots and conditions allowed them to really go off in their many practices. The waves were long enough for three to four minutes rides, carving and crossing each other in the water. With such conditions, the session was very playful !
When the swell went down too much to keep surf foiling, Léo-Paul, Clément and Théo did some tow-in with James, a local they’d met earlier. Thanks to his jet-ski, the riders took the opportunity of flatter water to try out another foil practice.
The Efoil also had its moment : a practice adapted to softer conditions, but still rich in sensation. Flying above water, being closer to nature, and enjoying the incredible scenery surrounding them, so many reasons why our riders like this sport so much. With the Efoil, the glide is so effortless they could almost believe not touching the water.
The second day in Cape Town, a strong wind was blowing over the bay. The Wing Ride made an appearance ! The conditions, particularly suited to this new foil practice, convinced our riders to take their gear out and do spectacular jumps. Wing foiling offers unique sensations, and it is so versatile it even allows for some fun outside the water : our riders tested some jumps in sand dunes. Something to test out at least once.
In a few days, the Takuma riders discovered an incredible spot and a rich culture, with a backdrop of gliding sports and colorful sessions. A foil trip that delighted our Watermen, and birthed some images we can’t get enough of.
