Getting your Takuma eFoil ready for storage during colder months is essential. Follow these guidelines for optimal gear preservation.
Efoil Storage Tips:
Disassemble all the efoil components and remove the battery for long-term storage.
Thoroughly clean with fresh water, rinse the propulsion and the propeller, keeping water away from electronics and the connector pins.
Dry the inside of the board with a clean dry cloth until there is no sign of water left. Wipe down the exterior of the eFoil and mast with alcohol and WD-40. Target joints to prevent salt buildup.
If the connectors get wet, rinse them with clean fresh water, then use a canister of compressed air to blow out all the water. Apply contact lubricant. Use a jet of compressed air to remove any excess lubricant. Once the connector caps are completely dry, screw them directly back onto the connectors.
Ensure all efoil components are completely dry before storing them in their cases, in a clean and dry environment away from direct sunlight or extreme heat.
Battery Storage Tips:
Before storage, thoroughly clean the battery. Wipe down the exterior surfaces with freshwater, avoiding terminals. Use contact cleaner on terminals if necessary and screw on the dry connector cap.
Maintain a state of charge between 60%-80% for storage. If the battery is not to be used for a long time, then it needs to be charged every 3 month to 80% in order to preserve its lifespan. Remember to disconnect the charger when not in use. Never leave unattended while charging.
Avoid storing the batteries near heat sources. Ideal storage temperature is between 10°C (50°F) and 25°C (77°F) in a dry place.
Before use after long-term storage, charge both the battery and remote controller to 100% using the supplied chargers.
We recommend getting your efoil serviced at least once a year.
